All About Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy:
Aromatherapy is a holistic and ancient healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts which are made into essential oils, to promote health and well-being. Aromatherapy uses these aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health and well-being.
Aromatherapy is thought of as both an art and a science. Recently, Aromatherapy has gained more recognition in the fields of science and medicine.
Essential oils are applied externally and provide a gentle, sensitive and natural alternative to synthetic drugs and medications. They have a balancing effect on the body and many therapeutic benefits.
History:
The use of essential oils goes back to ancient civilisation. These have been used by humans for thousands of years. The Egyptians, Greeks, Indians and Romans are known for using essentials oils for medical and religious purposes.
The first book of Aromatherapy was written in 1928 by the French chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse who worked with essential oils. He had seen the benefits after a burn incident, when he plunged his arm into a vat of Lavender and then noticed how quickly and effectively this helped him heal. This spiked his curiosity and he started researching the healing power of essential oils.
Storing Essential Oils:
Essential oils should be stored in non clear containers and kept in a cool, dry and ark place, away from direct sun light.
Life's Balance Oils have a shelf life of up to 12 months.
